Trying to describe what I saw on this day trip from San Diego I came across this excellent blog entry by someone who had been there in 2007: http://jonson.wordpress.com/2007/01/29/the-salton-sea-is-a-strange-place/ Just read what the author writes about the three places I went to (I didn't have time to go to the others, buy may do so some day) and you know what I experienced. A really odd place, nevertheless with a certain fascination for someone like me who's interested in shooting dilapidated stuff.
